The Maxxis EnduroCross Becomes An AMA Sanctioned Series

Press Release | April 23, 2007

Pro-Motion Motorsports announced today the Maxxis EnduroCross will become a three round series with venues in Denver, CO, Guthrie, OK and the final round in Las Vegas. The series will be AMA sanctioned with a number one plate and $40,000 in purse money up for grabs.

“This is the start of what we expect to become a much larger series within the next few years,” explained Eric Peronnard, co-promoter of the event. “The Las Vegas race has proven to be a huge success, it’s now time to start taking EnduroCross across the country.”

The Denver round takes place on Saturday, September 29 while the Oklahoma round is scheduled for Saturday, October 6th. The Las Vegas weekend will operate very similarly to the 2006 event – there will be a Qualifier Round on Friday, November 16 with the Championship final round taking place the following night, Saturday, November 17.

“We already have additional venues on the schedule for 2008,” continued Peronnard, the original creator of the U.S. Open of Supercross and co-creator/producer of EnduroCross. “The three race series is a good start. It’s important that we have a solid base of quality events and let them grow accordingly. You can count on seeing EnduroCross on the eastern side of the country in ’08 – we know there is a lot of support in that area.”

The three race series will boast a $40,000 total purse payout, which includes individual purses for each event, along with a $10,000 Maxxis EnduroCross Series fund paid out to the top riders in the series.

Scoring for each race will be similar to that of an AMA supercross with points earned based upon the riders finishing position. The Las Vegas round will serve as a Double Points event… the overall winner of the series will be crowned the AMA EnduroCross Champion.

The website for the Maxxis EnduroCross Series has been completely updated with entry forms, schedules, information about the events and the purse schedule. Riders interested in signing up for the events can do so now. Each race venue is limited to 200 riders, so those serious about the championship are encouraged to sign up early.
