Despres Wins Dakar

Gauloises KTM’s Cyril Despres cruised to the finish of the Dakar Rally today, the Frenchman winning the event for the second time in his career.

Red Bull KTM’s Chris Blais finished his Dakar on the podium, the Californian cruising today to finish 25th, to stand on the podium with Despres and Casteu.

Today’s stage win went to Latvian Janis Vinters, his second stage victory of this year’s Dakar. Second place went to Norwegian Pal Anders Ullevalseter with Yamaha-mounted Helder Rodrigues finishing third.

Ullevalseter and Rodrigues ended the rally in fourth and fifth, respectively, overall.
