Christophe Pourcel Update

Press Release | January 25, 2007

The following is from M2S Agency: During Saturday night’s Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series event in Anaheim California reigning FIM MX2 World Champion Christophe Pourcel pulled off the track with an injury during the Lites class main event. An initial examination was performed by Dr. Bodnar in the Asterisk Mobile Medical Center and a possible compression fracture to Christophe’s right lower tibia was suspected. Pourcel then decided to return to France to consult with his osteopath Dr. Olivier Dufour who confirmed the initial diagnosis as correct. Dr. Dufour advised a course of treatment for Pourcel that will allow the bone to heal and also give Christophe ample time to prepare for his upcoming FIM MX2 title defense which begins on April 1st at Valkenswaard, The Netherlands.

Regarding his time in America Pourcel had this to say “It was very good for me to come and race with the Monster Energy / Pro Circuit / Kawasaki team in order to prepare for being here full-time next year. The team is great to work with and provided me with excellent equipment and guidance for the racing I did in the US. We already enjoyed some success together and I’m really looking forward to hopefully achieving even more with them in the future. I’m also very grateful to fans for all the support they gave me right away.”

Pourcel’s next appearance stateside could possibly occur at Motocross of Nations event in Budds Creek Maryland on September 23rd if he is selected to represent his home country of France.
