Nelson, Lange Rule Salem BooKoo Arenacross

In Salem, Jimmy Nelson, riding the GPS, Cannon Falls Honda turned in two very impressive rides in the opening night of the BooKoo Arenacross Series, Friday, November 10. Nelson, coming off his Canadian MX2 West Motocross Championship is quickly adapting to the fast pace of Arenacross, taking wins in both the 250 and 450 classes. Former Arenacross National Champion and current point leader Darcy Lange, riding the Babbitt’s Kawasaki, finished second in the 250 class, while having to settle for sixth in the 450 class.
Riley Kurosky, on his Fox, Dunlop Honda, had one of his best rides, finishing a close third to Lange in the 250 main. Young gun, 15-year-old sensation Tyler Bowers, on the MDK Speed Equipment Honda, closed in on Nelson towards the end of the 450 main taking a close second. Another great ride came from Colt Humphrey, riding the Fiber Wise Pasta, Sano Yamaha, leading the main event for more than half the race then settled in for the final podium position.
Gared Steinke took the win over Anthony Romero and Garza Cooper in the CRF150 Shootout.
Saturday night, Babbitt’s Kawasaki lead rider Lange put his head down to take wins in both the 250 and 450 Pro classes. Teammate Jeff Northrop followed Lange across the line to take second, with early leader Brad Ripple hanging on the third in the 250 main.
In the 450 main, Bowers had another great performance on his MDK Speed Equipment Honda, taking second away from Jimmy Nelson on the GPS Honda in the closing laps. Steinke again won the CRF150R Shootout.
