Kawasaki’s Ricky Dietrich won the AMA ISDE U.S. Qualifier in Walsenburg, Colorado, July 8-9. Dietrich topped both days but could never let down his guard, as KTM’s David Pearson was always right there breathing down his neck.

After day one, Dietrich finished just three seconds ahead of Pearson but had a bit more room to spare on day two after beating Pearson by 24 seconds.

Pearson ended up second overall.

Third overall went to Paul Neff, followed by Cole Kirkpatrick. Just one second separated the two KTM riders. Suzuki-mounted Wally Palmer rounded out the top five overall.

In class competition, KTM rider Aaron Kopp finished well ahead of the LOI 1 (100-125cc two-stroke/175-250cc four-stroke) class, while Dietrich and Pearson topped the LOI 2 (175-250cc two-stroke) and 3 (290-450cc four-stroke) classes, respectively.

Yamaha rider Amanda Mastin took the win in the LOI 4 (Women’s) class, while KTM rider Michael Bronn topped the LOI 5 (Senior) division.

Former ISDE gold medalist Fritz Kadlec competed in the Senior class and finished seventh on a Husaberg.
