Stewart Fastest During Indy Practice

Practice has concluded in the RCA Dome in Indianapolis where round nine of the Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series will take place this evening. James Stewart waited until the final lap of the final seeded practice session to post a 50.952, which was the fastest time of the day. The Team Kawasaki rider looked comfortable on the nine-turn course that most of the riders seemed to like because of its moist dirt.

The second fastest time in the Supercross class went to Makita Suzuki’s Ricky Carmichael, with a 51.157, while Team Yamaha’s Chad Reed was third fastest with a 51.549.

In the East Region Lites division, it was series points leader Davi Millsaps who clocked the fastest time on his Team Honda. His 53.208 topped last week’s winner Sobe/Samsung/Mobile/Honda’s Josh Grant by .124 (53.432). Grant’s teammate, Tommy Hahn, was third fastest with a 53.995, followed by Red Bull KTM’s Josh Hansen with a 54.650.

Indiana-native Mike LaRocco, who before the event officially announced his plans to retire at the end of the season, missed out on making his 230th Supercross start, tonight, when he crashed during the first practice session and injured his left wrist. A soft cast was put on the wrist until LaRocco could get it checked out, however the injury put him on the sidelines for the evening.
