Woods Hauls At Hollister

Team Green’s Nathan Woods took full advantage of a last-lap crash by fellow Kawasaki racer Ricky Dietrich to win round two of the AMA National Hare Scrambles Series in Hollister, California, last weekend.

Woods wasted little time working his way up to second place, where he stalked the leader, Dietrich, for much of the race. On the last lap, Woods saw Dietrich swap in a sand wash and crash. By the time Dietrich pick up his bike, Woods was in first and headed to his first National Hare Scrambles win.

Dietrich, who had ridden two classes the day before at the Adelanto Grand Prix, was happy with second place, which were two positions better than he finished here last year. Plus, he stretched out his lead in the series points standings.

KTM’s Robbie Jenks finished third and is now second in points.

Former ISDE Junior World Trophy rider Ryan Powell, riding a Yamaha, finished fourth just 25 second ahead of early leader and local favorite Patrick Garrahan, riding a KTM.

Kariya spends way too much time in the desert, but we’re glad he does as he’s the man who gets us our coverage of all things sandy.
