Practice has concluded at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia, for round eight of the Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series, and it was Chad Reed who turned the fastest lap time.

The Team Yamaha rider is on a roll after winning the St. Louis event last week and turned a best time of 52.529, which was .6 seconds faster than Team Kawasaki’s James Stewarts’ 53.158. Makita Suzuki’s Ricky Carmichael was third fastest with a 54.268.

Makita Suzuki’s Roger DeCoster addressed the press after practice concerning Carmichael’s 25-point penalty assessed by the AMA for using non-legal fuel at the San Diego event (see earlier post) and said that Carmichael “wants to prove, once more, the champion that he is and he will do everything he can to come back and put up a fight for the championship”.
