The following release is from AMA Pro Racing…

AMA Pro Racing announced today that the AMA Ford Quality Checked Flat Track Championship event that was to be held on Saturday, Sept. 24 at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Ill., has been cancelled.

According to Bruce Bober, AMA Pro Racing Flat Track series Manager, this particular event has been proven to be a challenge this year. “The event was originally going to be held on June 11, but heavy rains forced us to postpone the race to September,” said Bober. “Now, unfortunately, we’re in a position where we have to remove it from the 2005 calendar entirely. We hope to maintain a dialogue with the promoter about the possibility of returning to this track in the future.”

Round 12 of the 16-round championship will be held this Saturday at Sedalia Missouri’s State Fair Speedway.
