The following is a release from Team Motorcyclist’s Post, sponsors of AMA Grand National number 54 Cory McDermitt:

Team Motorcyclist’s Post is proud to announce a two-rider field for the AMA Grand National Championship season finale double header at DuQuoin, Illinois, September 24-25. Joining Grand National number 54 Cory McDermitt on the New England-based team’s Garry Baehler-tuned Harley-Davidson XR750s will be fellow Michigan rider, number 16j Nichole Cheza.

The 16-year-old Cheza recently completed her points requirements for a GNC license by finishing a remarkable fifth place during the Harley-Davidson Sportster Performance Series National main event at the Springfield Mile on September 5 – in her first ever start aboard a Harley-Davidson Sportster 883.

“Besides showing great promise for such a young age, Nichole is a symbol of hope for this great sport that was once the premier form of motorcycle racing in this country,” team manager Leo Castell, publisher of The Motorcyclist’s Post, a New England based monthly news magazine, said. “We are proud to be able to give Nichole a chance to compete at the highest level of this sport, right alongside the men. We hope that the fans and the motorcycle community will support our efforts.”

Team Motorcyclist’s Post is sponsored by the New England Harley-Davidson Dealers Association, N.F. Sheldon, Inc. Harley-Davidson/Buell, Performance Harley-Davidson/Buell, VP Race Fuels, Digatron USA, Spectro Oils, Performance Vehicle Service, Bettencourts Honda/Suzuki and Ontrack Systems.
