Tough One in Colorado

Shan Moore | June 1, 2004

Defending champ Geoff Aaron won both days of the AMA/NATC National Trials in Cotopaxi, Colorado, May 29-30. The trials proved to be one of the toughest that some of the competitors had ever seen, but that only seemed to bring out the best of the Gas Gas-mounted Aaron, who easily won both days.

Finishing second both days was fellow Gas Gas rider Ryon Bell.

South African Brent le Liche took third on Saturday and sixth on Sunday, while Montesa’s Chris Florin finished fourth on Saturday and third on Sunday.

Fifteen-year-old Cody Webb had a steady weekend by rounding out the top five both days.

After four rounds, Aaron leads the points standings with 120, followed by Bell with 92 and Florin with 82.
