The following is from AMA Pro Racing…

Tonight’s AMA Progressive Insurance Grand National Championship Short Track event at Atomic Speedway in Oak Ridge, Tenn., has been cancelled and rescheduled for Saturday night, July 24. Heavy rains in the area have forced the change.

Current ticket holders will have their tickets honored for the July 24 event, which will begin at the traditional 7:30 p.m. starting time.

“We’re very sorry to loose the connection with the Honda Hoot that is happening in the area now. But the weather has caused havoc with their event as well,” said Bruce Bober, AMA Pro Racing Flat Track Series Manager.

Heavy rains began in the area early Friday morning and the forecast is calling for more rain through today and into Saturday. Teams are already on their way to Lima, Ohio for Saturday night’s AMA Grand National half-mile event at the Allen County Fairgrounds.
