Fujinami Shines in Duluth World Trials

Honda-mounted Takahisa Fujinami won both days of the U.S. round of the FIM Individual World Trials Championship Series in Deluth, Minnesota, over the weekend. With the dual wins, Fujinami, who was tied with seven-time World Champion, Montesa’s Doug Lampkin going into the event, now leads Lampkin in the series by 10 points. Lampkin’s best finish came on Sunday when he finished second.

Spain’s Adam Raga, aboard a Gas Gas, finished third both days.

Great Britain’s Graham Jarvis, on a Sherco, finished second on Saturday.

The U.S. World round was held at the Spirit Mountain Ski Resort, where rain came down on Saturday, making the sections slick and difficult. The sun came out on Sunday, though the mud dragged on to the sections by the bikes kept the sections difficult until things dried out for the riders’ second loop.

The top American was Montesa’s Chris Florin who finished 16th both days.
