Adams Wins Grand Prix Series Opener

Australian speedway star Leigh Adams won the opening round of the Speedway World Championship yesterday in Stockholm, Sweden, topping fellow Aussie Jason Crump.

Third place in his home race went to Swede Tony Rickardsson with Poland’s Tomasz Gollob and Dane Nicki Pedersen rounding out the top five. American Greg Hancock ended up sixth in the season opener.

The second round of the World Championship, now celebrating its 10th year as a multi-round format, will be held at the Marketa Stadium in Prague on May 15.
