ICE Announces 2003-2004 Season

The 28th Annual World Championship ICE Speedway Series officially kicks off December 19-20, 2003, to help celebrate the Grand Opening of the beautiful new Everett Events Center in Everett, Washington.

The stellar field of speedway ice racers competing is headed up by reigning World Champion James Mann from Bolton, England. Other notable racers expected to make the trip to the Pacific Northwest are ICE National Champion Ronny Kemp from Cary, North Carolina; many year veteran of the ice wars Bill Hermant from Reno, Nevada; and the “Young Gun” Chris Strong from New York, to name just a few.

From Washington, the ICE World Championship Series crosses the country for another points round January 2 at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, New Jersey. Valuable World Championship Points will be earned by riders at each round of this winter’s series. They will determine the overall 2004 World Champion and the four seeded positions to the Las Vegas Grand Finale.

The Inaugural World Championship Open takes place at the recently opened Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, February 6-7. Practice, qualifying and press conference takes place on February 5 for this very special ICE event that features the biggest combined purse in the sport’s history at $25,000. A very cool $5000 cash goes to the winner!
