Barry Hawk Captures Fifth GNCC Win

Barry Hawk Jr. began the second half of the Grand National Cross Country Series with his fifth win of the season at Taylortown, Pennsylvania, September 7. The Yamaha rider took the win ahead of Kawasaki Team Green’s Fred Andrews, while Suzuki’s Steve Hatch, Yamaha’s Jason Raines and Suzuki’s Mike Kiedrowski rounded out the top five overall.

Sixth place went to defending champ Rodney Smith (Suzuki), followed by Honda-mounted Doug Blackwell, Yamaha riders Josh Mclevy and Robbie Jenks, and KTM’s Mike Lafferty.

Former GNCC champ Scott Summers competed and finished 16th.

Hawk now enjoys a comfortable points lead with three rounds left. Hawk has 253 points, followed by Raines with 186, Lafferty with 176 and Andrews with 175.
