Chad Reed Quickest So Far

| December 13, 2002

Chad Reed clocked the quickest time in the first timed practice at the World Supercross GP at the Gelredome in Arnhem, Holland, today. The Yamaha factory rider showed no effects from his hand injury from the opening round of the series in Geneva, Switzerland, last weekend. Geneva winner David Vuillemin had the second-quickest time and Mike LaRocco the third fastest. Rounding out the top five were Sebastien Tortelli and Jeremy McGrath.

“This track is really good,” Reed said. “I’m enjoying myself a lot and feel really good on the bike. I want to win tomorrow night for sure.”

McGrath had a small crash in the second practice, although he still looked strong and, at one stage, both Reed and McGrath lapped the Gelredome circuit together, clocking consistent times. We’ll have more on the second practice shortly.

The Gelredome layout is similar to that of the last round of the EA 2002 Sports Supercross Series in Las Vegas.
