Who Else But Andrews at Ohio GNCC

With just one round left to go in the Grand National Cross Country Series, four riders have a realistic chance of winning the title, but the odds-on favorite following yesterday’s GNCC round in Ohio is defending champ, FMF/Suzuki’s Rodney Smith, who finished fifth after getting hung up in a crowded mud hole early in the race, which was won by Kawasaki’s Fred Andrews.
Smith goes into the final round of the series in Indiana, October 20, with an 11-point lead over Andrews, 229-218. Right on Andrews’ heels is KTM’s Mike Lafferty, who returned to action and finished eighth in Ohio, with 217 points, and fourth is Suzuki’s Mike Kiedrowski, who finished third in Ohio, with 214 points.
Yamaha-mounted Barry Hawk followed up his High Point win a couple of weeks earlier with a second-place finish in Ohio.
