Davis Wins Third National Hare & Hound

Ty Davis competed on the new Yamaha YZ450F for the first time and ran away with the AMA National Hare & Hound win at Lucerne Valley, yesterday. With just one round left, Davis holds a five-point lead (not counting throwaway rounds) over Russell Pearson, who finished second overall, also on a YZ450F. It appears, though it’s not official, that Davis wrapped up the series championship with his third win of the year.

Finishing third overall was Kawasaki Team Green’s Destry Abbott, who returned to action for the first time since undergoing knee and shoulder surgery. Abbott finished just ahead of Honda riders Andy Grider and Steve Hengeveld. Kawasaki’s David Pearson finished sixth, followed by Honda-mounted Mike Childress, Kawasaki’s Dave Ondas and KTM riders Joey Lanza and David Rees.
