Hengeveld, Campbell Top Henderson’s Terrible 250

Steve Hengeveld and Johnny Campbell combined efforts to win the Henderson’s Terrible 250 in Henderson, Nevada, July 13. The Honda XR650-mounted duo came from behind twice and finished the 255-mile race in four hours, 33 minutes and 42 seconds, taking the overall and Class 22-class win.

Second overall and second in Class 22 went to the Yamaha YZ426-mounted team of Ty Davis and Russell Pearson, completing the race in 4:39:18. Rounding out the top three was the Honda XR650 duo of Andy Grider and Danny Cooper (4:40:29).

Yamaha riders Eddie Deanes and Carlos Molina topped the 250cc division (Class 21), while Honda riders Kevin Ward and Daryl Hambleton took the Class 30 (30+) win. The Class 40 (40+) win went to the Honda-mounted team of Jim O’Neal, John Ortner and Brian Schmuckle.

The race was the fourth round of the Optima SCORE Desert Series.
