Loretta Lynn’s GNCC/HS

| April 22, 2002

Yamaha rider Jason Raines came out on top at Loretta Lynn’s Dude Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, yesterday, where the AMA Grand National Cross Country Series and the AMA National Championship Hare Scrambles Series got together for a doubleheader (it was the fifth GNCC round and the third HS round). The Washington rider, who also topped the GNCC opener, was already leading in that series, and he now sits second behind KTM rider Brian Garrahan in the HS points chase.

Finishing second on the day was FMF Suzuki’s Mike Kiedrowski, with KTM National Enduro Champion Mike Lafferty (the winner of the previous round) taking the final podium spot. Defending champ Rodney Smith was fourth on an FMF Suzuki, with Yamaha rider Barry Hawk Jr. Completing the top five.
