Dirt Track TV

Both the Peoria TT and the Springfield Mile will air on Speed Channel this summer, according to the Illinois Motorcycle Dealers Association.

The show will be shot in high definition and will be produced by Chet Burks Productions and motorcycle film director Peter Starr.

“Once again, the Speed Channel has shown their commitment to motorcycle racing,” Burks said. “Without their help, this show would never be produced. On a personal note, I’ve admired Peter Starr’s work for years and this is the first time we’re getting to work together showing off our favorite form of racing.”

The Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, Illinois, has hosted more Grand National Championship races than any other venue in the history of the sport with the fairgrounds set to celebrate its 100th National.

Peoria, meanwhile, also has a long history of hosting dirt track Nationals with 79 Nationals taking place on the famed TT track.

The Springfield Mile will be held on May 24.
