Poovey Wins F-USA Dirt Track in Portland

Texan Terry Poovey strengthened his hold on the Formula USA Pro Singles championship lead by emerging on top of a four-rider battle in the main event at Portland International Speedway half-mile on Saturday night.The USC Racing rider had won the third heat race after qualifying third fastest in the 49-rider field. In the main, he was in the mix of a freight train from the start, the top four separating themselves after the halfway mark in the 20-lap main.

Second went to Dan Stanley with Davey Durelle third and Bryan Smith fourth.

With four rounds remaining in the 11-race championship, Poovey leads Harley-Davidson’s Jennifer Snyder by 66 points, 226 to 160. Snyder third in her heat race, was seventh in the main.
