Carr Captures Phoenix Half Mile

| October 2, 2000
Wrenchead.com rider Chris Carr took home the win at Phoenix’s Manzanita Speedway Saturday night with a convincing wire-to wire domination of the National Main. Bartels’ Harley-Davidson’s Jay Springsteen kept within range in case the number–one plate holder made a mistake, which never came. Corbin’s Joe Kopp held off Terry Poovey and J.R. Schnabel, the three riders completing the top five.

Husaberg’s Kenny Noyes stole the win, and the 2000 Pro Singles title after a race-long four-way battle royale with Red Line Oil’s Bryan Smith, BBRP rider Dan Stanley and Team Powell’s J.R. Schnabel.

Carr has all but sown up the national championship, only needing a few points at Del Mar to secure the Wrenchead.com National title. Here are the results and series points standings from Phoenix.
