Aftermarket exhaust manufacturer SuperTrapp has re-signed as the title sponsor for the 2000 AMA SuperTrapp SuperTracker Series.

“SuperTrapp is pleased to sponsor the AMA SuperTrapp SuperTracker Series for its second year, said Larry Trevathan, General Manager at SuperTrapp. “Based on the success of last year’s inaugural season, we believe the series proved to be an exciting addition to the sport of dirt-track racing.”

According to the AMA, the 2000 series marks the the second of a three-year program of testing and development for the SuperTrapp SuperTracker Series, which runs at selected events of the 2000 AMA Progressive Insurance U.S. Flat Track Championships. SuperTracker rules and equipment standards were created with the guidance of race-team owners, and designed to encourage the participation of a wide range of motorcycle manufacturers. Last season’s entries included bikes powered by Suzuki, Honda, Ducati, Yamaha and Harley-Davidson engines.

“The new bikes have injected a fresh look to the Grand National circuit, and should open up dirt-track racing to a larger audience of motorcyclists and race fans,” Trevathan said. “We also want to congratulate 1999 SuperTrapp SuperTracker Series Champion Joe Kopp, his team, and Suzuki as well as the other riders and teams that contributed to making the inaugural season a success.”

SuperTrapp supports the SuperTracker racers by contributing $14,000 to the series purse. When combined with race organizer contributions, a total of $63,000 is up for grabs over the course of the 2000 SuperTrapp SuperTracker season. The 2000 SuperTrapp SuperTracker season schedule is as follows:
