Round two of the Maxxis EnduroCross Series is set to get underway tomorrow at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma. The track will be the largest yet, and lap times are expected to be in the 1:10 range, which is approximately 20 seconds longer than they were in Denver, Colorado, last week.
The track should be again tough and challenging, and will feature a huge step-up/step-off mound with a log at the peak. Also planned is a 180-degree turn - in a large pool of water!
Last week in Denver, Red Bull KTM's David Knight scored the main-event win over trials rider Keith Wineland and Damon Huffman, who came out of retirement to compete in the three-race series, which will wrap up at The Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, November 17, the weekend before Thanksgiving. If Knight can win all three rounds, he will not only take the 2007 EnduroCross Championship, but he will also win the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute Triple Crown and the $50,000 purse that goes with it. The money can only be won if a rider wins all three rounds.
