Clear Channel Entertainment-Motor Sports has announced that the Motorcycle Safety Foundation will be conducting a Youth Demo ride on Sunday, October 5, in the Horse Show Arena, the same arena the K&N Filters Short Track National will be held the night before, during the K&N Filters Del Mar Motorcycle Weekend.

The Youth Demo is an opportunity for children ages 6 to 12 to ride a dirt bike in a safe and controlled environment. Using Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki motorcycles and suiting up in Thor motocross gear, the participants will receive riding instructions from certified Motorcycle Safety Foundation Dirt Bike School Coaches.

Participation is free with paid admission to the races. Participants must know how to ride a bicycle, and a parent or legal guardian must be present. All safety gear will be provided.

“Clear Channel Entertainment produces many of the premiere motorcycle events in the United States," said Robert Gladden, OHV Program Manager for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. "To have the opportunity to be a part of the K&N Del Mar Mile weekend is an honor for the MSF DirtBike School. With our Youth Demo Ride now a part of the event, we look forward to giving many kids a memory that will last a lifetime.”

Keeping safety in mind, the event will be conducted around the short track oval with tuff blocks placed as a safety barrier. Each participant will receive a Polaroid photo of himself or herself riding, along with an MSF DirtBike School brochure.

“As the world’s largest producer of motorcycle events, we are extremely pleased to work with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation in creating opportunities to provide a safe environment to teach our youth the great sport of motorcycling,” said Mike Kidd, V.P. of Clear Channel Motor Sports.
