Kawasaki celebrated the return of Flat Track National racing in Northern California (after more than a decade's absence in that region since the 1999 Mile in Sacramento) by hosting a ride of staffers and friends to watch the Calistoga Half Mile Grand National.
Naturally, Kawasaki selected its top touring bikes for this jaunt – the Vulcan 1700 Voyager and the Vulcan 1700 Nomad – and stretched out the around 500-mile ride to more than 600 miles starting from Kawasaki USA in Irvine. The group hugged the twisty roads on the coast, stopped in Cannery Row in Monterey, and then headed up to the Golden Gate Bridge for the final leg.
In addition to the fast racing on July 31 at the banked, clay car track, other activities included a vintage-bike show, industry booths and exhibitors, and meet-and-greets with motorcycle legends.
