On the heels of his clean sweep of last weekend's Triple Challenge in Canberra Stadium, Geico Powersports Honda's Kevin Windham has extended his Australian adventure to compete in the third round of the Super X Australasian Championship in Launceston on the island of Tasmania, south of Melbourne."I had so much fun racing last weekend and the competition and tracks over here are great," Windham said after deciding to stay on for another week. "My wife and I are really enjoying the country and the people, so the decision to stay on and compete in another round was an easy one."Windham will be attempting to beat a number of the same U.S. and Australian riders that he vanquished last weekend in Canberra. Josh Hansen (Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki); last weekend's second overall, Justin Brayton (Muscle Milk/Toyota/JGRMX); third overall last weekend, and Mike Alessi (Jagermeister KTM), who finished fifth overall last weekend, will be on the starting line. Also competing will be many of Australia's best, including CDR Rockstar Yamaha's Jay Marmont, Cougar Bourbon Thor Honda's Dan Reardon, and JDR Motorex KTM's Tye Simmonds. Australian Chad Reed won't be competing, having returned to the U.S. after winning the first round in his hometown of Newcastle. The Open class riders will compete in the Quad Challenge final, with four, six lap races.
