Word has it from Troy Lee Designs that Cole Seely will fill in for the injured Josh Grant on the factory-backed Honda CRF450R at the Indianapolis Supercross in two weeks. Seely recently tested with the team and Honda team manager Erik Kehoe and crew like what they saw from the West Coast Lites Supercross rider.

"This is a great opportunity for Cole," said Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Honda Team manager Tyler Keefe. "He's an amazing person who works hard. I think his time on the 450 will elevate his racing knowledge. This is the stuff dreams are made of. Cole deserves this opportunity and the TLD/Lucas Oil/Honda team is behind him 100%. When the series heads back to the West coast and Cole gets back on his TLD/Lucas Oil/Honda CRF 250R, I think his time with American Honda on the 450 will help him generate even more speed that he can carry over into the outdoor Nationals."

Seely is thrilled with the opportunity.

"Erik Kehoe called me to ask what I was doing during the break," Seely said. "I thought he was just calling to chat, so I told him I was going be doing some outdoor testing and drifting my car a little if I had some spare time. When he asked me if I wanted to ride Josh's bike, my heart almost jumped out of my chest. This is the opportunity you always dream of as a little kid. I called Tyler and Troy [Lee] and they were pumped for me too. This is awesome. I rode the bike with Trey [Canard] last week and I rode well. I'm looking forward to Indy."

Seely won his first Supercross race in the West Lites main event earlier in the year at Dodger Stadium. He's currently fifth in the West Lites points standings.
